KINOR DAVID WINERY AND YOUTH REHABILITATION

Founders of Hasdei Avot, Brothers David and Tzvi Edrei have an interesting family history. Theirs was a wealthy family in Morocco involved in charitable works. Grandfather David used to make sacramental wine for the family's use and for other local Jews' as a purely non-profit venture. Today the Kinor David Winery is a commercial venture producing excellent wine under the auspices of master vintner Jaques Oumo from France. The wine is bottled with the Edrei family seal which is 500 years old. It reads "Adonenu David Roeh Yisrael" which spells out the name Edrei, and means "our master David shepherd of Israel". Although it is a commercial venture today, it provides a great service to the community in keeping with the Edrei family values. It provides employment and training to many youth in the area who gain valuable skills and work experience and above all wholesome self-respect.
