ACTIVITY CENTERS

The Hasdei Avot organization has opened a number of activity centers in Kiryat Arba. These centers serve children and the elderly primarily but are also there to promote Torah learning and serve all age groups.

The Tania (Tatiana) center
Offers a range of activities:

1. Rosh Chodesh parties for the elderly
2. Weekly activities for the elderly including holocaust survivors
3. Children's activities in the afternoons daily. A hot meal is served and craft activities or homework help are offered.
4. Homework club. This is a once a week activity run by students receiving a government scholarship.

All activities are offered free of charge to the elderly and children from needy families.

"Beit Shalom" center
This is a magnificent banqueting hall used for conferences as well as being offered to needy families for the use of their weddings and other simchas. Rosh Chodesh parties for immigrants are held here monthly. The center also hosts the "Shirat Devorah project". This is a Bat Mizvah coaching project for young girls which is run twice a week by students from the "Midreshet Shirat Hevron' girls seminary.

"Or David and Shlomo" center
This a center for Torah learning with daily public lectures as well as hosting Harav Hirschzohn's popular Avot u'Banim program of learning that attracts over 150 children and their fathers every Motzei Shabbat.

During the summer vacation we arrange for regular afternoon activities run by youth leaders for those children whose families cannot afford camp fees. We also sponsor special trips and activities for needy children.
